SERVICES: 2:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2002, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, Texas, with Butch Shepherd, officiating. BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Warren was born October 16, 1918 in Caliente, Nevada to Eva I. Lamb and husband John D. Warren. He was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army in 1946. He was a member of the Professional Golfers Association of America and served as the club professional at the Pampa Country Club for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge #1381 AF & AM. He and his wife, Ava, moved from Pampa to Houston in 2001 to be closer to their family. He loved golf and golfers alike and taught the game to many. All will remember his sympathetic response to anyone complaining about a bad lie on the course. He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Maggie Lou Steward Warren.SURVIVORS: Wife: Ava Warren of the home; 2 sons: Tom Warren of Brookshire and Skip Warren of Houston; 1 sister: Peggy McDonald of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 grandchildren: Paul Warren of Dallas and Lisa Warren of Katy.
