SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Roland Haney, pastor of the Apostolic Faith Church of Spearman, and Pastor Paul Nachtigall of the Highland Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral DirectorsBIOGRAPHY: Born April 19, 1911 in Childress. He came to Pampa in 1953 from Canadian. He married Lillian May Downs on February 11, 1932 in Ballinger. She preceded him in death in 1995. He later married Opal Butcher on September 5, 1990 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 2000. He was a self-employed service station mechanic from 1947 until his retirement in 1986. He was a former rodeo cowboy. He attended Highland Baptist Church.SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Warren W. Pettit of Pampa. 1 Sister: Adelle Kelly of San Luis Key, California. 1 Brother: John Pettit of Vernon, Arizona. 5 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren.
