She came to Pampa in 1929 from Shamrock. She married Louis Tarpley in 1925 who preceded her in death in 1962. She and her husband owned and operated Tarpley Music Store for many years. Mrs. Tarpley was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sonshine Club. She organized and chaired the First Baptist Church High School Senior Banquet for 45 years. In 1986, she was selected as Beta Sigma Phi's "Woman of the Year." She was a member of the local hospital auxiliary for many years and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.SURVIVORS: 1 daughter: Donna Ludwick and husband Jim of North Richland Hills; 2 sons: Glenn "Buz" Tarpley and wife Jewell of Pampa and Bill Tarpley and wife Mary Edna of Amarillo; 1 sister: Jessie Jett of Tucson, AZ; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.MEMORIALS: First Baptist Church, 203 N.
