SERVICES: 2:00 PM Saturday, July 6, 2002, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Don Larkin, retired minister, and Wayne Price, minister of McLoud Church of Christ, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 7, 2002 at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Newalla, Oklahoma with military rites courtesy of the U. S. Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Barton was born on Oct. 26, 1921 in Stella, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of McLoud High School and attended Montana State University. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II, and participating in 5 major European Theatre campaigns. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1957 and worked for Lane-Wells, Cabot, and IRI, retiring in 1983. He married Thelma Summers on March 25, 1943 in Harrah, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1996. He later married Geneva Dalton on march 22, 1997 in Amarillo. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and was past president of the Texas Panhandlers Travel Club. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.SURVIVORS: Wife: Geneva Barton of the home; 2 sons: Larry Barton of Amarillo and Randal Barton of Piedmont, OK; 1 daughter: Joanie Lovelace of Mustang, OK; 1 stepson: Robert Dalton of San Angelo; 1 stepdaughter: Pat Winkleblack of Pampa; 2 brothers: Russell Barton of Newalla, OK and Jim Barton of Newcastle, OK; 1 sister: Mildred Capps of McLoud, OK; 5 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Pampa Senior Citizens Center, 500 W. Francis, Pampa, TX 79065.
