SERVICES: 10:00 AM Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Skellytown with Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor at First Baptist Church-Skellytown, and Rev. Jim Fox, pastor at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiatingBURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of PampaBIOGRAPHY: Born Nov. 14, 1918 at Haskell, OK. He married Fredda Allen on Jan. 18, 1941. She died in 1989. He joined the National Guard in 1939 and was call into duty in 1940 with the 171st Field Artillery Battalion of the 45th Division. He was awarded a Purple Heart during WW II and was discharged in 1945. He went to work for Skelly Oil Co. In 1945 as a roustabout and retired from Getty Oil in 1981 as a Gas Field Supervisor. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Skellytown. He was preceded in death by a son Kelly Brown on Sept. 9, 1995SURVIVORS: 1 son: Larry Brown of Skellytown. 2 sister: Argie Smith of Morris, OK and Norma Jean Grain of Haskell, OK. 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildrenMEMORIALS: First Baptist Church of Skellytown.
