Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, November 12, 2012, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating.Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mr. Newton was born November 27, 1949 in Pampa and was a 1968 graduate of Pampa High School. At Pampa High School he was sports editor of the Little Harvester his senior year and received the journalism award. He attended the University of Texas and Southwest Texas State University at San Marcos before receiving his associate degree at Amarillo College. At AC, he was named to "Who's Who in American Junior Colleges" and graduated with a 4.0 grade average. Buddy worked at Titan Specialties and N L McCullough Wireline Services, both in Pampa and Washex Machinery in Wichita Falls. He loved sports and was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pampa. Survivors include 2 sons: Barry Newton and wife Lyndsey of Springtown, and Rob Munson and wife Amy of Somersworth, New Hampshire; his parents: Maurice and Pat Newton of Pampa; a sister: Terry Gamblin and husband Kris of Pampa; a brother: Mike Newton of Rochester, New Hampshire; and 2 grandchildren: Isaac Munson and Whitney Munson, both of Somersworth, New Hampshire.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
