F. A. Records, Lt. Col., USAF retired, died November 16, 2012 in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. James Stephens, pastor of the First Christian Church of Borger, officiating.Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Ochiltree Cemetery south of Perryton with military honors courtesy of Altus Air Force Base Blue Knights Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.F. A. was born September 5, 1925 in Perryton to Paul A. and Susie Mae McLelland Records. His childhood was spent in Canadian and Perryton. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1944 while already serving in the World War II Army Air Corps. He attended West Texas State College on the ?GI Bill? and there met his future wife, Margie L. Thompson of Borger.F. A. and Margie were married on June 8, 1948 in Borger and they continued their education at Texas Tech College. He worked 8 years for Phillips Petroleum in Borger as an engineer. Their children, Paula, Franklin and Lora were born in Borger. In 1960, he returned to active duty as a Captain, USAF. In 1977, he retired as a Lt. Col., having served as an engineering manager in the acquisition of new weapons systems. In 1979, he joined West Texas Utilities Company in Abilene as a mechanical engineer, WTU power plants. In 1990, at the age of 65, he retired for a final time. In 2002, he and Margie moved to Pampa. He was a former member of both First United Methodist Church of Abilene and First United Methodist Church of Pampa, and joined the First Christian Church in Borger in 2007. F. A. believed in the Lord as his Savior. He was past president of the Borger Jaycees, Abilene Elmwood West Lions Club and Abilene WTU Golden Years. He was also a former member of the Abilene Evening Lions Club and was a current member of the Pampa Lions Club. He developed the first low fat and cholesterol Chinaburgers, but old age and his wife?s illness precluded successful marketing. F. A. enjoyed traveling and camping, and had a great love of the local sports, especially basketball. He was an amazing storyteller and keeper of history. The adventures will be missed. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Margie on January 21, 2009; a son: Franklin A. Records in 1988; 2 daughters: Lora L. Records in 2004 and Paula S. Hagerty in 2012; his parents; and 3 sisters: Christeen Dendy, Diddy Correll and Sudie A. Reeder. He is remembered by his granddaughter: Sara A. Phinney and her children, Lucas and Owen; a grandson: Robert M. Hagerty and his son Brady; a grandson: David Anderson; his sister: Colleen A. Wheeler of Higgins; 2 brothers: Paul A. ?Jim? Records of Fischer, and George L. Records of Ottawa, Kansas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to the Texas Lions Camp, P.O. Box 290247, Kerrville, Texas 78029
