Juanita Lou Vincent, 82, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, in Claude.Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Mike Watson, pastor of Hobart Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mrs. Vincent was born Nov. 30, 1929 in Perryton to Lyman and Charlotte Upham. She graduated from Lefors High School in 1947 and married Ed Vincent on Oct. 25, 1947. They were the first couple married in the newly constructed First Methodist Church in Lefors. Ed preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 2005. Juanita and Ed raised registered quarter horses and tended Hereford cattle. Their horses were well-known throughout the Panhandle as some of the best cattle horses to own and ride. Juanita was a former member of Lefors United Methodist Church and later became a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pampa.Survivors include 4 daughters, Shirley Fields and husband Keith of Groom, Ann Hines and husband Nick of Canadian, Carol Vincent and Leatrice Ferguson and husband Bruce, all of Claude; brother-in-law: Robert Carr Vincent of Amarillo; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
