Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor of the First Christian Church and Rev. Dr. Alberta Helton, pastor of the Triumph Truth Church in Amarillo, officiating.Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mr. Selby was born September 4, 1942 in Wheeler. Jack was a resident of Pampa since 1966. Jack was a veteran of the US Army serving at the start of the Vietnam War. He married Carolyn Harrell on December 31, 1970 in Borger. Jack worked as a computer programmer at National Oil Well retiring in 1999 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF&AM, Pampa Rifle Club, American Legion and the Panhandle Bluegrass and Ol?Time Music Association. Jack enjoyed playing his fiddle. Survivors include his wife Carolyn of the home; 2 sons: Thurston Nelson Selby and wife Ashley of Ladonia, Texas and William Wallace Selby of Chadron, Nebraska; his mother: Norma Selby of Clinton, Oklahoma; 2 sisters: Reta Hall and husband Eugene of Clinton, Oklahoma and Reba Helms and husband Steve of Monroe, North Carolina; 1 brother Roy Selby and wife Bonnie of Borger; and 6 grandchildren: Elaine Selby, Thurston Selby, David Selby and Daniel Selby all of Chadron, Nebraska, Kailyn Selby and Warren Selby both of Ladonia, Texas. Jack was preceded in death by his father William Nelson Selby and a granddaughter Edwina Selby.
