Oleta Farber

Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa with Scott Futrell, minister of Kentucky St. Church of Christ in Pampa, officiating.Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Mrs. Farber was born December 19, 1927 in Sweetwater, Oklahoma to Bill and Virgie Smart. Oleta married Hershel Farber on September 23, 1946 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She had been a resident of Pampa from 1953 until moving to Amarillo in 2007. Oleta was a former member of Central Church of Christ in Pampa. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother: Leon Smart.Survivors include her husband: Hershel Farber of the home; 2 daughters: Shirley Cummings of Claude and Judy Farber of Fairfield; a son: Larry Farber and wife Kathy of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren: Benji Hausen, Karie Crowley, Kellie Rogers, Gregory Farber and Grant Farber and all of their spouses, all of Amarillo; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister: Loveta Click of Amarillo; 2 brothers: Ray Smart and wife Lola of Sayre, Oklahoma, and Bobby Smart of Wilburton, Oklahoma; and sister-in-law: Mary Smart of Amarillo. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
