Maxine Parsley

August 27, 1928 — December 17, 2012

Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at White Deer United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Jerry R. Lane, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Mrs. Parsley was born Aug. 27, 1928 in Pampa and was a graduate of Pampa High School. She married R. L. Parsley on Aug. 19, 1947 in Pampa. Maxine had been a resident of White Deer since 1969. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Pampa and later became a member of White Deer United Methodist Church. Maxine was a member of the Pampa Optimist Club as well as the Pampa VFW Post #1657 Auxiliary. She was a wonderful artist and seamstress and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.Survivors include her husband: R. L. Parsley of the home; a son: Kerry Parsley and wife Gail of Pampa; a daughter: Jody McClendon of Clarendon; three granddaughters: Darla Gaines and husband Heath and Rhonda Ceaser and husband Michael, all of Amarillo; and Tracy Mills and husband Thomas of Blanchard, OK; two grandsons: Jerry Parsley and wife Melissa of Garden Grove, CA and Dave Parsley and wife Lucy of Escondido, CA; 12 great grandchildren. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Corinne Bell, by a son, Richard David Parsley, and by a son-in-law, Steve McClendon.Memorials may be made to White Deer United Methodist Church, 800 S. Jordan, White Deer, TX 79097 or White Deer Senior Citizens Center, 315 S. Main, White Deer, TX 79097.
