Shirley Swinney, 74, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 in Pampa.Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ with Keith Feerer, minister, and Dale Meadows, elder, officiating.Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mrs. Swinney was born Oct. 31, 1938 in Chillicothe, and she attended schools in Mobeetie. She married Don Snelgrooes on Oct. 25, 1955 in Mobeetie. He preceded her in death in 1959. After his death, she moved to Pampa where she married Kenneth Williams in 1962. Later, she married Howard Swinney in 1991, and he preceded her in death in 2001. Shirley was a member of Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school, working in the nursery, and working in the clothing room. She also loved being the Black Mesa Camp cook, and she was active in the prison ministry. Shirley and Howard loved spending their summers in Alaska. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.Survivors include 3 sons, Steve Snelgrooes and wife Alicia and Mark Williams and wife Rina, all of Pampa; and Monte Williams and wife Angie of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Laverne Cochran, Patsy Poole and husband Virgil, all of Pampa; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; and by a special friend, Betty Crable of Pampa.
