Edna Roberta Maxwell

Edna Roberta Maxwell, 96, died January 7, 2013 in Amarillo.Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, January 11, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, with Steve Cox, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pampa, and Rev. Jeff Messer, chaplain of Bivins Memorial Nursing Home in Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Mrs. Maxwell was born September 28, 1916 in Leonard, Texas and was a resident of Pampa since 1937. She had resided in Amarillo since 2009. She married Edwin Lloyd Maxwell on July 22, 1937 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1959. Edna worked for J. C. Penney in Pampa for several years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge, both in Pampa.Survivors include her daughter: Barbara Evans and husband James of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 sons: Eldon Maxwell and wife Betty of Pampa, and Darrell Maxwell and wife Joan of Amarillo; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Edna was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Maude Morgan; by 15 brothers and sisters; and by a granddaughter: Susan Dee.Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 511 N.
