Robert ?Bob? Rhodes, 96, died January 8, 2013 in Pampa.Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 12, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Skellytown, with Rev. Hiram Reyes, evangelist, and Bruce Brame, officiating.Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Mr. Rhodes was born September 27, 1916 in Union City, New Jersey. He married Grace Homer on April 3, 1939 in Goodland, Kansas. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2004. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. Bob was an operator for Skelly/Getty Oil Company for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Skellytown, and the White Deer and Skellytown Senior Citizens. He enjoyed camping and fishing and loved serving his church.Survivors include 2 daughters: Betty Wheeler and husband Josh ?J.P.? of Pampa, and Ella Hicks of McLean; 2 sons: Robert Rhodes of Ridgecrest, California, and Billy Rhodes of Skellytown; 2 brothers: Frank Rhodes and wife Arlene of Eufala, Oklahoma, and Richard Rhodes and wife Edith of Phoenix, Arizona; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a great-grandson and a sister.Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O.
