Robert T. ?Bob? Smith, 87, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 in Pampa.Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the First Christian Church with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery with military honors accorded by the U. S. Navy. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mr. Smith was born Nov 1, 1925 in Modesto, California and was raised in Miami, graduating from Miami High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was on the USS Sandoval in the Asiatic Pacific area where he received two stars and a victory medal. Bob married Doris Spoonemore on June 28, 1951 in Pampa. He worked for Texaco for 10 years and then Celanese Chemical Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1987. Bob was a member of First Christian Church and Top O? Texas Masonic Lodge #1381 AF & AM. He was a member of the Celanese Retirees Association and served on the Pamcel Credit Union Board. Bob was a licensed Texas realtor.Survivors include his wife, Doris Smith, of the home; a daughter, Brenda Booth and husband Jim of Austin; two grandchildren, Garrett and McKinley Booth, both of Austin; two brothers, Carroll Smith and wife Sharon of Topeka, KS and Harold Bush Smith of Kansas City, KS. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Letha Smith, a son, Brent Dwayne Smith, three sisters, Verna Mae Smith, Anna Jo Weidler, and Juanita Menn, and by three brothers, Lennis, Milton, and Bill Smith.Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1633 N.
