Ruth Taylor, 91, went to be with Jesus on February 17, 2013. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Bob Hudson of Bible Baptist Church of Pampa, and Rev. Mike Brixey, pastor of Lighthouse Assembly of God in Humansville, Missouri, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday, at Shattuck Cemetery in Shattuck, Oklahoma, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mrs. Taylor was born February 21, 1921 in Shattuck, Oklahoma. She married Herb Taylor on April 6, 1936 in Shattuck, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1996. She worked as a nurse?s aide at both Worley and Highland General Hospitals, a custodian at Baker and Travis Elementary schools, a waitress and greeter at Granny?s Caf?, and took care of many people as a caregiver. She was an active member of Bible Baptist Church. Ruth was a devoted and loving mother as well as a friend to many. Her hobbies were making pillows, calendars and dolls. She loved to travel, be with people, and she invited people to her church that she attended regularly, up until her health would not permit her to attend any longer. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends The family wishes to thank all those who took care of her at Coronado Healthcare Center, Pampa Regional Medical Center, and Interim Hospice. Survivors include two sons: Jackie Taylor and wife Carolyn, and Larry Taylor and wife Janet, all of Pampa; two sisters: Lee Nelson and Dee Crews, both of Tacoma, Washington; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, and lots of loving friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents: John Hagen and Katie Gressett; a son: George Taylor; a grandson: Donnie Taylor; a brother: Joe Hagen; a sister: Anna Carrico and a brother: John ?Buster?
