Jimmy Ray Hooker, 69, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Pampa.Services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating.Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mr. Hooker was born January 12, 1944 in Wheeler County to S. B. and Bernice Wright Hooker. He was raised in Mobeetie. Jimmy was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He married Judy Hudson on April 25, 1964 in Wellington. He was a longtime mechanic and mechanical consultant in the offshore drilling industry, having worked in such places as Singapore, Africa, Thailand, Brazil, Israel and offshore Gulf Coast. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Harold Hooker; and a son: James Glenn Hooker.Survivors include his wife: Judy Hooker of the home; two daughters: Lisa J?Non Winegeart and husband David of Amarillo, and Jessica Lauren Hooker of the home; a son: Dylan James Hooker, U. S. Army, Fort Benning, Georgia; three grandchildren: Kylie Sawyer and husband Brad, Kaitlin Winegeart and Kassidy Winegeart; and two great-grandchildren.
