Katherine Elizabeth Gilbert, 51, died Sunday, February 24, 2013, in Pampa.Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Gene Gee, minister of Lefors Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Katherine was born July 15, 1961 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She married Danny Gilbert on November 6, 1981 in Laurel, Mississippi. Katherine had been a resident of Lefors since 1982. She was a cook for Dyers Bar B Que for 11 years, and Peggy?s Place for 15 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Katherine was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandma. She was preceded in death by her father: Martin Ray Brookshire in 1997; a grandson: Phillip Hendricks in 1997; and a daughter: Belinda Renea Brookshire in 2005.Survivors include her husband: Danny of the home; 2 daughters: Melissa Newton and husband Curtis of Pampa, and Rebecca Lynn Gilbert of the home; a son: Damyane Shaye Gilbert of the home; her mother: Mary Brookshire of Pampa; 2 brothers: Martin Guy Brookshire and Johnny Lee Brookshire, both of Pampa; 5 grandchildren: Dystany Brookshire-Riley, Sierra Blackwell, Jason Blackwell, Cassie Solis and Cody Newton; and 5 great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to the Lefors Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Service.
