Phyllis Rosalee Laramore, 89, died March 17, 2013 in Amarillo.Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the First Christian Church with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor, officiating.Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mrs. Laramore was born March 17, 1924 in Beggs, Oklahoma to C. R. and Lesta Clark Followell. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1926 and was a 1941 graduate of Pampa High School. She married Rubin Odell Partin in 1942 in Pampa. She later married Lloyd Laramore on Aug. 2, 1946 in Clarendon. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2001. Phyllis was a projectionist for the three indoor and two outdoor theaters during World War II and was a checker at several Pampa grocery stores. She was a member of First Christian Church since 1926 where she was a member of the Aquilla and Priscilla Sunday school class. She was a member of the American Business Woman?s Association, Gray County Home Demonstration Club, and was an avid square dancer with the Calico Capers Square Dance Club. Phyllis taught the 55 Alive Driving Course. She demonstrated tatting lace at Chautauqua for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James Robert Followell, and three sisters, Ernestine Trask, Anna Corinne Followell, and Lois Northcott.Survivors include four sons, Larry Partin and wife Sharon of Nocona, J. D. Laramore and wife Kelly of Allen, Douglas L. Laramore and wife Patty of Ada, OK, and Victor Laramore and wife Dee Dee of Pampa; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014, First Christian Church, 1633 N. Nelson, Pampa, TX 79065, or Pampa Senior Citizens Center, 500 W. Francis, Pampa, TX 79065.
