Yvonne Guthrie Winborne, 77, passed away on April 7, 2013 in Pampa after a short illness.Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Nancy Ruff, commissioned lay pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mrs. Winborne was born January 15, 1936 in Pampa to L. L. and Jewel Husted McCracken Guthrie. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1954. She worked for Hughes Company, Texaco and Celanese. She retired from Celanese in 1983 after 17 years of service. Yvonne married Jake W. Winborne on June 23, 1963 in Clayton, New Mexico. She was a member of the Pampa Senior Citizens and a former member of the Desk & Derrick Club.Yvonne was the best of the best as a wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be greatly missed. Her passion was her family and she loved putting together holiday meals. She was the best cook and took special pride in her pecan pies! She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marie Thomas; and two brothers, Art and Merle McCracken. The family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff at Pampa Nursing Center and BSA Hospice of Pampa for their loving care. Survivors include her husband, Jake W. Winborne of the home; two sons, Tommy Winborne and fianc?e Sue Garner of Pampa, and Barry Winborne and wife Donna of Arlington; one grandson, Brent Winborne of Kingsville; two sisters, Jo Bennallack of Reedley, California, and Wanda Passmore of Pampa; an aunt, Mary Alice Guthrie of Clayton, New Mexico; four nephews, Tommy McCracken and wife Pat of Pampa, Lee Passmore of Amarillo, Jimmy McCracken and Dennis McCracken; three nieces, Vivian Linxwiler and husband Rob of Chandler, Arizona, Carol Nelson and Billie Mazur and husband Bill, all of Reedley, California; and a number of grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and very loving friends.Memorials may be made to BSA Hospice, 800 N.
