Russel Dale Boyd

Russel Dale Boyd, 79, of Pampa, died April 27, 2013 in Amarillo.Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Joel Osborne, of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors by the Altus AFB Blue Knights Honor Guard, Altus, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mr. Boyd was born January 5, 1934 in Cleveland County, Oklahoma. Russel has been a resident of Pampa since 1941. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. Russel married Evelyn Wellborn on September 7, 1957 in Pampa. He retired from Cabot Corporation as a mechanic in 1996 after 39 years of service. He was a Nazarene.Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Boyd of the home; two sons, Ronald Boyd and wife Davedda of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Timothy Boyd and wife Tawanna of Odessa; a sister, Sally Bray of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Doug Boyd of Pampa, and L. D. Boyd of Mountainburg, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Russel was preceded in death by a sister, Leota Fletcher, and a brother, Dean Boyd.Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
