Beden ?Granny B? McCullough, 93, died May 7, 2013 in Amarillo.Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2013, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor, and Carl Novian, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mrs. McCullough was born August 12, 1919 in Winfield, Louisiana. She was raised and attended schools in Hope, Arkansas. She married James A. McCullough on August 6, 1936 in Hope, Arkansas. He preceded her in death in May of 1973. Beden was church secretary at First Baptist Church of Kilgore for 25 years. She was the first house mother of the Ronald McDonald House in Dallas before moving to Pampa in 1988. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pampa where she worked in the nursery department for many years. Beden was very active in the church women?s ministry. She was a babysitter for several Pampa families and was a caregiver for a special person in her life, Chris Carlson.Survivors include a son, Frank McCullough and wife Renee of Pampa; 2 granddaughters, Tiffany Shock and husband Casey of Forney and Chelsea McCullough of Dallas; a great-granddaughter, Anistyn Shock of Forney; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brant McCullough in 1979; by 3 brothers, Earl Secrest, J. W. Secrest and Newt Secrest; and 2 sisters, Florence Thomas and Norine Turner.Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 621, Pampa, Texas 79066-0621.
