Ritter Baxter, 86, died Friday, May 10, 2013 in Granbury.Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa with Dr. Paul Anderson, Baptist minister from Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa where Norma will be laid to rest next to her husband, George M. Baxter. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Mrs. Baxter was born April 25, 1927 in Groom. Norma was a longtime resident of Borger until 2005 when she moved to the lake in Granbury. She attended school in Grandview and high school in Pampa. She married George Marion Baxter on Aug. 19, 1944 in Pampa. Norma was a member of the Borger Chapter of the Eastern Star and Keeler Baptist Church in Borger. She loved being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid cook and loved to play cards and dominoes. More than anything, Norma loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George, her precious son, Rick, her parents, two sisters, Lillie Carney and Ina Brown, and her brother, Lilburn Ritter.Survivors include two children, Glenn Baxter of Granbury, and Rhonda Sperry of Borger; a sister, Erma Britten of White Deer; her only grandson, Brian Baxter of Marysville, OH; six granddaughters, Amy Fernandez of Borger, Lisa Maynard of Waxahachie, Jennifer Donaldson of Arlington, Allison Baxter of Canyon, Emily McFarling of Denton, and Jeorj York of Amarillo; and 13 great grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, May 13, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
