Cermation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Mr. Mears was born December 5, 1949 in San Antonio. As a small child, he and his family moved to Gray County. He attended Pampa High School and attended a vocational school to learn auto mechanics. Jackey worked at Dulaney Auto and Truck Parts in Amarillo for several years, and also worked at Moody Farms and Tejas Feeders. He liked the outdoors and loved to fish, but most of all, he enjoyed being around his family and friends. Jackey was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, John Mears wife Marion; his mother, Mildred Maxine Scott; and 2 brothers, James Mears and Bobby Mears.Survivors include 2 daughters, Jacqulyne Gee and husband James, and Gaye McBee and husband Billy, all of Lefors; a son, Toby Mears and wife Casey of Amarillo; 2 brothers, Johnny Mears of Pampa and Ronnie Mears and wife Nita of Rhode Island; a sister, Nancy Skeen and husband James of Dallas; 2 stepbrothers, Mark Trevathan of North Dakota and Tim Trevathan of Sayre Oklahoma; a stepsister, Debbie Griffin and husband A. J. of Borger; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 108 N. Russell, Pampa, Texas 79065.
