JoAnn Dixon, 74, died June 18, 2013 in Pampa.Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, June 21, 2013, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Terry Bradley, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Dixon was born May 23, 1939 in Marked Tree, Arkansas. She had been a resident of Pampa for the past 68 years. She attended Pampa schools, graduating from Pampa High School in 1958. She married Robert W. Dixon on June 7, 1959 in Pampa. JoAnn attended business school in Denver, Colorado and then worked as a bookkeeper for Bill Arthur and E. E. Simmons Bookkeeping. She later worked as a self-employed bookkeeper. JoAnn was a Baptist. She volunteered with the Pampa Optimist Youth Club where she coached different teams, and she was a member of the Opti-Mrs. Club. She loved to fish, cook, can foods, and make quilts for her family and friends. She will be remembered for her generosity to others. She loved to help all people. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Bessie Addington; a daughter, Kimberly Ann; a son, Christopher Lind; 3 brothers, Lloyd, Jimmy Ray and Jack Addington; and a sister, Mary Lou Rodgers. Survivors include her husband, Robert W. Dixon of the home; her son, Robert W. Dixon, Jr. and wife Debbie of Pampa; 10 grandchildren, Lindsey Wall and husband Dustin and Robbie Dixon, all of Amarillo, Jessie Dixon, Bailey Dixon, Matt Driscoll, and Destiny Mulanax and husband Jason, all of Pampa, Brandon Dixon with the United States Air Force, Melissa Dixon of Bullard, Daniella Dixon of Longview, and Chris Driscoll and wife Mindy Morrison of Corsicana; and 9 great-grandchildren, Aubree Wall, Berklee Wall, Chevelle Mulanax, Jaxsom Mulanax, Ashlynn Mulanax, Halie Mulanax, Kaylee Ham, Ceirra Ham and Thomas Ham; a sister, Claudetta Laverty of Mobeetie; and a host of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Caaron McNeely of Mobeetie.Memorials may be made to the Pampa Optimist Youth Club, P.O. Box 802, Pampa, Texas 79066-0802.The family will be at 1939 Fir in Pampa.
