A.W. Winborne, 86, died July 23, 2013 in Pampa.Services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, July 26, 2013, at Memory Gardens West Mausoleum, with Rev. Dee Estes and Rev. Doug Estes, his nephews from Perryton, officiating. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens East Mausoleum, which A. W. designed and was the construction engineer when the mausoleum was built. Military honors are courtesy of Pampa VFW Post #1657, and Masonic rites are courtesy of Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mr. Winborne was born August 7, 1926 in Childress and was a 1944 graduate of Pampa High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. After his military service, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He married Juanita Estes in 1944 in Perryton. She preceded him in death on April 1, 1967. He later married Evelyn Prichard on September 5, 1970 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2011. A. W. worked for Cabot Corp. for 38 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM, and was a lifetime member of Pampa VFW Post #1657. He was a former board member of the Genesis House and was an area wide volunteer for many organizations. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include four sons, Rodnie Winborne and wife Kathy and Danny Winborne and wife Susan, all of Pampa, Pat Prichard and wife Tami of Ransom Canyon and Steve Prichard of Odessa, six grandchildren, Kelly Cambern and husband John and Lisa King, all of Pampa, Will Winborne and wife Colbi of Panhandle, Matt Winborne of Baltimore, Maryland, Shelby Prichard and husband Doug Barrows of Brooklyn, New York, and Carson Prichard of Lubbock, and seven great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to Pampa Meals on Wheels, P.O.
