Michael Eugene Towry, 57, died July 22, 2013 in San Antonio.Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Charles Lowry, pastor of Cross Pointe Church, officiating. A memorial ride will follow the service around Loop 171. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mr. Towry was born July 20, 1956 in San Antonio to Anna Towry. He attended Pampa High School in 1974 and finished high school in Pascagoula, Mississippi where he learned to weld at Ingell?s Ship Yard. Michael married Cynthia Park on July 23, 1982 in Pampa. Mike worked in the oilfield most of his life, and he loved running equipment and thought of them as giant Tonka Toys. He worked on pipelines that took him to many different places in the United States where he enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing different regions. He came back to Pampa where he worked as a welder and became production foreman for a code welding shop while he and his wife raised their son. Mike had recently returned to pipelining and was working the Eagle Ford Shale boom in south Texas at the time of his death.Mike loved long rides on his Harley, cooking for family, friends, and co-workers, being outdoors, fishing, camping, tinkering and imparting his wisdom on others. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help others and had a deep devoted love for his family. Mike was a huge presence and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Max Towry.Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Towry of the home; his son, Nate Towry and Stephenea Marshall of Pampa; his mother, Anna Towry of San Antonio; a close cousin, Susie Watson of San Antonio; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Rue Park of Pampa; sister-in-law, Mindy Park and George Liberty of Pampa; two nephews, Miles Watkins and companion Brittanie Foshee and Mason Watkins, all of Pampa; a niece, Ashley Miller of Pampa, two great-nieces, Analia and Madison Watkins; a great-nephew, Dane Park of Pampa, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 8008 Slide Road, Suite 12-A, Lubbock, Texas 79424.Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30-10:00 AM Tuesday, July 30.
