Vista, CaliforniaMarie Jamieson, 98, died April 16, 2013 at her home in Vista, California.Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, Texas, with Father Christopher Schwind, associate pastor of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Jamieson was born May 4, 1914 in El Reno, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of six children, including her twin brother, Paul. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasaw, OK. In 1936 she married Victor Jamieson, from Ponca City, Oklahoma. She and Vic, a geologist for Gulf Oil Company, lived in Colombia, South America, New Mexico and Arizona before settling in Pampa in 1947. As her children got older she began a sales career with Behrman?s where she worked until 1980. She was active parishioner for over fifty years at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, where she served in the Altar Society and was always ready with homemade cakes and pies for church and school fundraising activities.She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor, three brothers and two sisters and her beloved daughter, Anne.Survivors include her son, Jim Jamieson and wife Cindy of San Marcos, California, four grandchildren, Bari Etheredge and husband Lang of Austin, Damon Jamieson and wife Crystal of Keller, Tiffany Lawson and husband Roger of Plano, Darla Whitfield of Humble, five great-grandchildren and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews. As a cancer survivor and animal lover, Mrs. Jamieson?s favorite charities included the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or the Morris Foundation, 10200 East Girard Ave., Suite 8430, Denver, CO 80231.
