Mildred ?Millie? Plemons, 81, died August 7, 2013 in Pampa.Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Matthew McCurley, pastor of First Baptist Church of Canadian, officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mrs. Plemons was born October 29, 1931 in Katemcy, Texas. She attended schools in Oatmeal, Texas. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1962. Mildred worked for various stores in Pampa, including Marie Foundations for several years. She worked as a waitress at the Texaco Truck Stop and the Black Gold restaurant. She later owned and operated the Black Gold, retiring in 1987. Mildred liked to raise animals, sew and work in her garden. Above all, she loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sollie and Gladys Montgomery Morris, seven brothers, Craig, Carl, Gerald, J. B., Conard, Sollie and Curt, and two sisters, Lois Melton and Doris Morris. Survivors include her life partner, Chuck Lake of the home, three daughters, Sharon Taft and husband Del of Dumas, Linda McMullen of Pampa, and Connie Franks and husband Larry of Canadian, a sister, Joyce Carr of McLean, six granddaughters, Amber, Tabitha, Aleathea, Shila, Misty and Tiffany, a grandson, Joe Allen, and 12 great-grandchildren.
