Sloan, 68, of Palm Harbor and a former Pampa resident, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, in Tarpon Springs, Florida.Services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Pampa, Texas with Steve Porter, minister of the Primitive Baptist Church of Paducah, Texas, officiating. Arrangements are by Moss-Feaster Funeral Home of Palm Harbor and Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Mrs. Sloan was born August 12, 1944 in Old Town, Maine, the daughter of John Day and Pauline E. (Caron) Day. She moved to Palm Harbor in 1976 and was a wonderful wife and homemaker. She truly enjoyed quilting. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Herndon Sloan, in 1989.Survivors include her husband, Bobby R. Spurgeon of Palm Harbor, Florida; a stepson, Robert E. Spurgeon and wife Elizabeth of Alabaster, Alabama; a stepdaughter, Teresa Champion and husband Jeremy of Warrior, Alabama; a brother, John Day of Ocala, Florida; two sisters, Beverly Haas and husband Robert of Tatamy, Pennsylvania and Eilene Scott and husband Vernon of Brunswick, Maine; and by two grandchildren.Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.Sign the online register book at www.mossfeasterpalmharbor.com.
