Amarillo, TexasJoyce Shaw Clifton, 80, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2013 in Amarillo, after fighting a debilitating disease for eight years.Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Briarwood Church in Pampa, with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Joyce was born January 15, 1933 in Perrin, Texas to Grace and John Everett Shaw. She married L. G. Clifton on June 12, 1954 in Olney, and their family moved to Pampa in 1969 after living in Wichita Falls. She was a homemaker and devoted wife and enjoyed oil painting, traveling, lake activities and going to the mountains. She and L. G. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary just prior to his passing in 2004. In 2010, she moved to Childers Place in Amarillo due to her inability to care for herself. She was a member of Briarwood Full Gospel Church in Pampa which she loved very much and she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Pampa. Joyce will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed playing and fishing with her grandkids. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Sherlane Bruton and JoAnn Scarlett. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Childers Place and Hospice Care of the Southwest for taking wonderful care of Joyce.Survivors include a son, Shawn Clifton and wife Lisa of Bushland, and two grandsons, Corbin Clifton of San Antonio and Cyler Clifton of Bushland, four nieces, J?Lynn Hare, Nanette Moyers, Pam Hendricks and Cynthia Forbes.Memorials may be made to Briarwood Full Gospel Church, 1800 W.
