Carolyn Eileen Shuck, 61, died August 13, 2013 in Groom.Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Groom, with Rev. James Greer, Director of Missions of the Top of Texas Baptist Association, officiating. Burial will follow at Groom Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Carolyn was born October 17, 1951 in Mishawka, Indiana. She married Rick Shuck on May 3, 1979 in Hemmingford, Nebraska. She had been a resident of Groom for over 30 years. Carolyn was employed at Palo Duro Nursing Home in Claude as a dietary manager for many years. She worked at Stop-N-Shop in Groom until October of 2012 when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. Most of her time was spent caring for her animals and plants. She loved having family gatherings and cooking for large groups. Serving the Lord and her family were the two most important things in Carolyn?s life. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Wegner, a daughter, Pamela Davis, and many beloved animals. A special thank you is offered to BSA Hospice for the fast acting and loving care they provided for Carolyn. Survivors include her husband, Rick Shuck of the home, a daughter, Lisa Schaffer and husband Cody of Groom, a son, Jamie Shuck and wife Jessica of Groom, her mother, Dorothy Rohren of Candler, Florida, four brothers, Don Sears and wife Donna of Hastings, Nebraska, Gary Nunn and wife Beth of Alabama, Greg Wegner and wife Jan, and Tom Wegner and wife Sunni, all of Candler, Florida, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to BSA Hospice, Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79105.
