Burleson, TexasHenry Creel Grady, Jr., 91, formerly of Pampa, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, in Burleson.Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa with Jim Grady, his son, and Rev. Lonny Robbins, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Mr. Grady was born Nov. 6, 1921 in Brownwood, the only child of Henry Creel and Edna Grady. He was a 1937 graduate of Brownwood High School and graduated from John Tarleton College in Stephenville in 1940. He worked at Camp Bowie in Brownwood before joining the U. S. Army in 1942. He served in Europe during World War II in the 804th Ordnance Company, 104th Division, and supported General Patton from Cherbourg and the British Army in Belgium. Creel was redeployed to Japan but the war ended while he was enroute. After his honorable discharge in 1945, he entered Baylor University in Waco in 1946 and married Mary Elizabeth Quick in 1947 in Brownwood. He graduated from Baylor in 1948 and moved to Pampa that same year. Creel worked for Standard Oil and Gas in offices on the Cobb lease and started working for Edwin Simmons, CPA, part-time and then became full-time when they both went to work for George Cree at Cree Drilling Company. In 1957, he left Cree Drilling to form his own accounting firm, H. C. Grady, Jr., Inc.Creel was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary, in 1959. In 1961, he married Marguerite Kirchman, and she preceded him in death in 2009. He moved to Burleson in 2012 to be closer to his son, Jim, and his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and friends in Pampa. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the people of Pampa that made Creel?s life so full.Survivors include a daughter, Laurie Vann of Abilene; three sons, Jim Grady and wife Mary Ann of Burleson, Steve Grady and wife Patti of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Scott Baldwin of Amarillo; eleven grandchildren, John Vann of Fort Worth, Matthew Vann of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mark Vann of Abilene, Jessica Mauldin and husband Josh of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Rachel Freese and husband Chris of Flower Mound, Jacob Grady and wife Keri of Benbrook, Daniel Grady of San Diego, California, Jennifer Grady of Asheville, North Carolina, Sarah Grady of Boone, North Carolina, and Melissa Baldwin, Kelly Baldwin and wife Kami, all of Amarillo; and by eight great grandchildren.Memorials may be made to Pampa Education Foundation, P.
