Jim Hanks, 55, of Skellytown, died Sunday, October 6, 2013, in Pampa.Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Trinity Fellowship in Pampa, with his brother, Melford Hanks, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Hanks was born June 7, 1958 in Pampa. He attended Pampa schools, graduating from Pampa High School. He married Deborah Hanks in August of 1984. He worked as a carpenter for many years, and owned and operated Hanks Construction. Jim was employed at the "Triple 7" up until the time of his death. In his spare time, he liked to play poker, but most of all, he enjoyed woodworking. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Wassherman, and his father, Samuel Hanks. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Hanks of the home, a son, Travis Berryman of Skellytown, his mother, Mary Wassherman of Northfield, New Jersey, a brother, Melford Hanks of Pampa, two sisters, Lorraine Smith of Pampa and Kathy Wassherman of Northfield, New Jersey, his stepmother, Reba Hanks of Valley View, a stepbrother, Dempsey Atwood, and a stepsister, Stephanie of Valley View.
