Bennie B. Owen

Bennie B. Owen, 72, died Sunday, November 17, 2013 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, November 22, 2013, at the VFW Hall in Pampa. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Owen was born November 25, 1940 in Knox City. He was reared in Pampa and attended Pampa schools. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, the U. S. Army, and the National Guard. He worked in the oilfield, the Coca Cola Bottling Plant, worked as a roofer, and up until the time of his illness, he worked at the Coney Island. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ella Owen, a brother, Charlie Plumlee, and a sister Peggy Ennis. Survivors include three sons, Kevin Owen of Pampa, Russell Owen of Georgia, and Brian Owen of Arkansas, three daughters, Linda Owen and Deborah Soles, both of Oklahoma, and Melody Mallat of Arkansas, and nine grandchildren.
