Janetta Ann Choat, 74, died November 24, 2013 in Borger. Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, December 2, 2013 in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Jim Yates, Interim Hospice Chaplain, and Steven Choat, her stepson, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Choat was born December 28, 1938 in Montague, Texas. She had been a resident of Pampa from 1957 until 1989 when she moved to Borger. She married H. C. Powers in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1979. She later married Ron Choat in 1980. Janetta was a homemaker and a Christian. She enjoyed gardening, being with her pets and outings with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carrie Johnston, and two brothers, Bobby Johnston and Billy Johnston. Survivors include her husband, Ron Choat of the home, a son, Ronny Powers and wife Karen of Borger, a daughter, Darla Powers of Borger, a stepson, Steven Choat and wife Patsy of Henderson, Nevada, two stepdaughters, Valorie Olson of Centennial, Colorado, and Cindy Frith of Charleston, SC, a brother, James Johnston of Amarillo, twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 2217 Perryton Parkway, Pampa, Texas 79065. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
