Rahna Abernathy, 57, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Highland Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Nachtigall, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Abernathy was born April 11, 1956 in Pampa, and graduated from White Deer High School in 1974. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1982, and married Doug Abernathy on January 30, 1982. Rahna received her Associate’s degree from Clarendon College. She was the office manager for Interim Healthcare for seven years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Rahna was preceded in death by her father, Chester Tackett, her stepfather, Ed Lowrance, a brother, Richard Lowrance, a niece, Kimberly Barbee, and a great-nephew. Survivors include her husband, Doug Abernathy of the home, two sons, Daniel Abernathy and wife Emily of Austin, and Tommy Abernathy of Midland, her mother, June Lowrance of White Deer, her stepmother, Rose Tackett of Pampa, two brothers, Richard Tackett and wife Sherry of White Deer, and Scott Lowrance and wife Donna of Pampa, three sisters, Sandra Bryam and husband Gene of Amarillo, Patti Duezabou and husband John of Helena, Montana, and Chalenia Freeman of Pampa, nine nieces, two nephews, five great nieces, nine great nephews and one great great nephew.
