Bob Brandon, 88, died December 7, 2013 in Lubbock. Vigil will be at 5:00 PM Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, and funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM Friday, December 13, 2013, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Brandon was born January 29, 1925 in Rawlings, Wyoming. He moved to Pampa when he was a young boy, attending Pampa schools and graduating from Pampa High School. Bob was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. Bob married Betty Dillman on June 15, 1950 in Pampa. She preceded him in death in 2003. He worked for Cities Service Gas Company for 33 years, retiring in the early 1980’s. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. Bob enjoyed playing golf and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Barbara Jean Brandon, and a granddaughter, Lauren Blevins. Survivors include his son, Chris Brandon and wife Mary of Houston; a daughter, Cheryl Blevins and husband Dale of Lubbock; five grandsons, Ryan Brandon and wife Anna of Houston, Joshua Blevins and wife Sarah of Chilliwack, British Columbia, and Austin Blevins, Taylor Blevins and Brandon Blevins, all of Lubbock.
