Tucson, ArizonaNancy Davis, formerly of Pampa, passed away January 19, 2014 in Tucson, Arizona. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 5, 2014, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa. A reception will follow in St. Matthew's Parish Hall.Nancy was born March 6, 1923 in Emporia, Kansas to William and Esther Teichgraeber. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Emporia and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. She married Billy B. Davis of Pampa on November 2, 1946 in Emporia and together they started their 60 year journey in a little rented house on Garland Street in Pampa. She had a long and happy life with her family, was a member of the Women of St. Matthews Church and the 20th Century Study Club, gave personal art instruction, and was active with Boy Scouts of America when her sons were participants. She lives in our hearts and memories, in the wonderful art she created, and in the lives she touched with her grace and kindness. When asked in recent years how she would like to be remembered, she wanted her family and community to know she was "a very happy woman because of a happy fulfilled marriage, and that she found joy in her creativity and in helping people... One perfect marriage, two perfect sons". When asked what she would miss most, she replied, "family". Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Bill and her brother James Teichgraeber. She is survived by her son James of Golden, Colorado, her son Robert and grandson Alexander both of Tucson, Arizona, and her brother Theodore Teichgraeber of Milford, Connecticut. Please make any memorial contributions to the charity of your choice in the memory of a woman whose life was a gift to all of us.
