He married Shirley Habekott on February 24, 1963 at the home of Shirley’s parents southwest of Arnett. Delbert worked with his father at Champlin Gas Station all through school. He moved to Woodward where he worked for Adam’s Brothers Grocery Store, and later moved to Elbing, Kansas to work for Edwin Andrew Grain Elevator Company. He later worked for Mobile Home Manufacturing in Newton, Kansas for four years. He was raised in the Apostolic Faith Church in Oklahoma and attended in Pampa before joining First Baptist Church in Pampa over 30 years ago where he was a member of the Adult 7 Sunday School class. Delbert was a devoted Harvester and Lady Harvester fan, and he rarely missed any of Brooklyn or Braydon’s activities. Delbert and Shirley followed their son, Jimmy, all over the country racing motorcycles, and one of the most exciting times was watching Jimmy play in the State basketball tournament.
