Georgetown, Texas Mildred Evelyn Wilkie, 88, of Georgetown Texas, passed away February 6, 2014 in Park Place Care Center, Georgetown, Texas with a loved one by her side. Services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm in Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Pampa, with Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mildred was born September 4, 1925 in Norman, Oklahoma to Irvin and Beulah Fulkerson. She was a 1944 graduate of Pampa High School. She married Glenn Wilkie, the love of her life, July 6, 1947 in Pampa, Texas. Mildred worked at The Department of Human Resources as a clerk and office manager until she retired in May, 1986. Glenn and Mildred moved to Georgetown, Texas in 1987. They were members of Crestview Baptist Church for over 24 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents Irvin and Beulah and her sister Nadine Jemison. She is survived by her daughter Cathy Harkins and her husband Joe of Lubbock; son Edward Wilkie of Corsicana; daughter-in-law Sherry Wilkie-Conway of Georgetown; four grandchildren Matthew Wilkie and his fiancé Jessica McCasland, Amy Minze and her husband Rory, Celeste Harkins and Kayla Wilkie; and four great grandchildren Tripp and Mattie Wilkie and Rody and Rylie Minze. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Girling Hospice for their care in her final days and to Clarisa Gaytan for her loving friendship and care she provided while in the nursing home.
