Lois Eileen Rochelle, 87, died Friday, February 7, 2014 in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Osborne, pastor, Rev. Charles Lowry, pastor of CrossPointe Church, and Pastor George Newcomb of Heritage Baptist Church in Arlington, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Rochelle was born Aug. 20, 1926 in Wheeler where she attended Wheeler schools. She moved to Pampa in 1948 and married Lawrence “Shorty” Rochelle on April 8, 1960 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2001. Lois was one of the first meter maids for the Pampa Police Dept. and later worked for Heard-Jones and Wal-Mart. After retirement, she worked as a caregiver for the elderly and young and was known as beloved “Meme.” She was an active member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. In her spare time, Lois liked to cook and crochet. The family would like to express deep gratitude to Interim Hospice, especially Debbie Douglas, Sue, Carla, Bro. Jim Yates, Marcella Lujan, and Jordan Douglas. Survivors include three sons, Bob McCain and wife Gwen of Wheeler and Danny McCain and wife Pat of Burleson, and Richard Dismuke of Pampa; two daughters, Janiece Bowers and husband David and Ina Rochelle, all of Pampa; a sister, Jean Deeds and husband Rick of Reading, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Desirae Davis and husband Terry of Pampa; 18 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 2217 Perryton Pkwy, Pampa, Texas 79065, or Fellowship Baptist Church, 622 E. Francis, Pampa, Texas 79065. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
