Roger Caldwell, 81, passed away on February 11, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Caldwell was born November 8, 1932 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Maggie Mae and Joseph Smith Caldwell. He was a 1952 graduate of Phillips High School. He married Claudette Hogan on August 22, 1952 at First Baptist Church in Borger. Roger served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955. He moved to Pampa in 1970 from Amarillo. Roger worked for Phillips Petroleum for 11 years and then for Furr’s and Albertson’s for a combined total of 38 years. He was a member of Briarwood Church. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Amos, Leon, Ollie, Keith and Jesse Caldwell; by two sisters, Boots Burris and Geneva Gaffney; and by a great-grandson, Noah Paul Coronis. Survivors include his wife, Claudette Caldwell of the home; three daughters, Susan Buchanan and husband Alan of Lefors, Joni Morgan and husband Sam and Robyn Franklin and husband Jerry, all of Pampa; six grandchildren, Clay Buchanan and wife Mandy of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kimberly Buchanan of Lubbock, Robi Thompson of Dumas, Joshua Franklin and wife Angie of Amarillo, Lyndsey Coronis and husband Corey and Britney Morgan, all of Pampa; nine great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Rebekah, Claire, Chandler, Cayden, Isabella, Fischer, Will and Matt; and many nieces and nephews.
