Lubbock, Texas Ina L. Davis, 98, passed away February 11, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, February 17, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Ina was born February 18, 1915 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Alice and William Dowdy. She attended schools in Sheffield, Alabama before moving to Borger, Texas. In Borger, she met and married Richard "Dick" Davis in June of 1930. He passed away in May of 1982. They were married 55 years and had three children. Ina and Dick operated the Host Carpet Cleaning service in Pampa. After Dick's death she managed the S & H Stamp store in Pampa before moving to Lubbock. Ina attended the First Assembly of God Church in Pampa and Trinity Church in Lubbock. She was active in the Prime Timers group. Ina lived to see five generations of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jimmy Davis, and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Elnita "Nita" Taylor and husband James "Jim" of Lubbock; son Ronald "Ron" Davis and wife Ann of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home in Pampa.
