Joyce Levada Frazier (nee Ragsdale), a model member of “The Greatest Generation”, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the age of 85 in the Meredith House of Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Frazier was born May 13, 1928 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and moved to Pampa in 1947. Joyce was a long time member of the First Assembly of God Church and was an active “Keenager” (church activity group for seniors) for years. In her younger days, besides being an admirable mom and efficient homemaker, Joyce was a member of a Pampa ladies club known as The Gingham Girls, worked as assistant manager of the Blue Stamp redemption store, and looked after her elderly parents after they moved to Pampa following retirement. In recent years, Joyce has lived at the Meredith House where the staff worked with healthcare professionals, friends, and family to help her deal with the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease. She was the devoted wife of Leroy Wayne Frazier for 67 years before he passed in 2011 and the loving sister of LaDawn Ragsdale Wallis for nearly 80 years before she passed in 2012. She is survived by her three sons, Rick Frazier of Kingwood, Terry Frazier of Ocala, Florida, and Chris Frazier of Frisco; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
