Jaunita May Davis, 78, of Pampa, died Friday, March 14, 2014.Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Hobart Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Watson, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Davis was born Jaunita May Bachman on Nov. 5, 1935 in Portales, New Mexico. May graduated from Levelland High School in Levelland in 1953 and had been a resident of Pampa since 1957. She married James E. Davis on Aug. 8, 1954 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2005. May had a love of flowers, holding the title of a Texas Master Florist. She worked for Clements Flowers, Clayton’s Flowers, and Freeman’s Flowers in Pampa before retiring to open her own business, Now and Then Flowers. After closing her business, she worked for Brandon’s Flowers of Pampa. May was a lifetime member of Pampa Opti-Mrs. and was very involved with the Pampa Optimist Youth Club. She was a member of the Hobart Baptist Church and could often be found teaching Sunday school. Survivors include her three sons, James Davis and wife Theresa, and Joe Davis, all of Pampa, and John Davis and wife Kim of Orange; a brother, Earl Bachman of Chester, South Carolina; and by four grandchildren, Adam, Jacob, Matricia, and Caleb Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by two brothers, Buster and Herman Bachman. In lieu of flowers and food, the family requests memorials be made to Hobart Baptist Church, 1100 W.
