Albuquerque, New Mexico Jim Keagy, 61, of Albuquerque, died Thursday, March 20, 2014, in Dallas. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Pampa with Jacob Cates, Jim’s nephew and associate pastor of Redeemer Christian Church in Amarillo, and Rev. Blossom Matthews, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Jim was born August 28, 1952 in Guymon, Oklahoma and came to Pampa in 1958 from Guymon. He was a 1970 graduate of Pampa High School, attended West Texas State University, and received an associate’s degree in radiation safety from Amarillo College. Jim married Connie Cutberth on Sept. 10, 1977 in Amarillo, and they were married for 36 years. He worked for Pantex and Cabot Oil and Gas in Pampa for several years and later managed Central Freight Lines in Pampa before moving to Albuquerque in 1992. Jim worked for Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque as a radiation control technologist for the past 22 years. He was a loving husband, a wonderful dad, and a great “Poppy” to his grandchildren. Jim loved four-wheeling and stream fishing in the mountains. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Keagy, in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Connie Keagy, of the home; a daughter, Jane McKean and husband Chris of Albuquerque; a son, David Keagy and wife Christine of Dallas; his mother, Marilyn “Mike” Keagy of Pampa; 3 sisters, Joan Stokeley and husband Ernie and Janet Gregory, all of Dallas, and Jean Feinberg and husband Len of Boone, North Carolina; 4 grandchildren, Haven and Vivienne McKean, both of Albuquerque, and Elliana and Drew Keagy, both of Dallas; and by several nieces and nephews.
