Margaret Elsie Washington, 87, died March 24, 2014 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, March 31, 2014 at First Christian Church in Pampa, Texas, with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Washington was born July 20, 1926 in Altus, Oklahoma, and her family moved to Pampa in 1928. She married James Washington on May 24, 1946 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2004. She worked as a bookkeeper for Pampa ISD for 36 years, and then worked part-time for five years. Margaret was a member of First Christian Church and the Bethany Bible Class since 1938. She was a member of Pampa Chapter 65 Order of the Eastern Star and was a volunteer with the Pampa Senior Citizens and Pampa Meals on Wheels.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Hazel Eckerd; and two sisters, Peggy Joyce Horton and Rachel Elaine Eckerd.  Survivors include two daughters, Laura Ann Dalton and husband Greg of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Mary Margaret Tilger of Red Oak, Texas; five grandchildren, Matt Dalton and wife Shaunna of Wylie, Texas, Krista Quigley and husband Josh of Owasso, Oklahoma, Melissa Tilger and Jessica Foresman, both of Red Oak, and Cody Tilger and wife Lindy of Lewisville, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Myka Dalton, Sawyer, Oliver and Annalinn Quigley, Kallie Foresman, and Bailey and Zoey Tilger. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church Memorial Fund, 1633 N. Nelson, Pampa, Texas 79065.
