Ron Dickinson

Skellytown, TexasRon Dickinson, 67, of Skellytown, died March 25, 2014 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.  Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2014 at CrossPointe Church in Pampa with Pastor Charles Lowry, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.  Mr. Dickinson was born July 25, 1946 in Portland, Oregon. He had been a resident of Skellytown since 1985, moving from Pampa. He married Alma Newman on April 2, 1976 in Pampa. Ron was a gunnery crew chief in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He received numerous medals including the Purple Heart. He was a long haul truck driver for Secured Land Transport with his wife for 20 years. Ron was a member of CrossPointe Church. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed being with his family including his wife, Alma, and his grandchildren.  Survivors include his wife, Alma Dickinson, of the home; a son, Michael Dickinson and wife Valarie of Pampa; a daughter, Charity Dickinson of Shattuck, OK; a brother, Lyn Dickinson and wife Kathleen of Lavita, CO; two grandchildren, Brennan Dickinson and Megan Dickinson, both of Pampa; four nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Jenkins Dickinson and Juanita Baggs Dickinson.  Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, 12672 Silicon Dr., Suite 105, San Antonio, TX 78249.
