Jimmy “Lucky” Rhodes, 68, of Pampa, died Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Pampa. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Rhodes was born April 14, 1945 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1997, moving from Fritch. He was a long haul truck driver for Douglas Trucking, Caprock Trucking, and Swift Trucking for over 16 years. Jimmy was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Laura King, of the home; a stepson, Eric King of Pampa; a stepdaughter, Brianne King of Oklahoma City; 2 sons, Shane Rhodes of California and Cody Rhodes of Oregon; a daughter, Sabrina Rhodes of Oregon; a brother, Archie Rhodes, Jr. and wife Mary of Hooker, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Judy Douglas of Amarillo and Sheryl Rhodes of Dalhart; several grandchildren including Athena Anderson, Kora Tipton, Skyler King, and Celeste Muller. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Lorene Rhodes, a brother, Danny Rhodes, and a nephew, Steven Rhodes.
